Before Your Service

How to get the best results from your cleaning service

Housekeeping VS Cleaning

Understanding the difference between housekeeping and cleaning is essential. Cleaning focuses on maintaining the hygiene of the home, including tasks like sanitising the bathroom, vacuuming and mopping floors, and cleaning kitchen surfaces and stovetops. In contrast, housekeeping encompasses organising, decluttering, and preparing the home for cleaning, as well as performing everyday tasks such as washing dishes, doing laundry, and organising personal items.

Before any cleaning can take place a thorough housekeeping session is crucial. It sets the stage for effective cleaning by removing clutter and making surfaces accessible. Beyond the immediate benefits of a tidy space, regular housekeeping promotes a sense of order and peace within the home, contributing to a healthier living environment. It is the meticulous attention to detail in housekeeping that enables cleaning efforts to be more thorough and lasting, ensuring a home is not only clean but also well-maintained and inviting.

Essential Housekeeping Tasks

To ensure optimal results from your Cleanify service, it's crucial to tidy your home before the appointment. This preparation allows Cleanify Technicians to access every area without obstruction, facilitating a comprehensive clean. Unorganised items, such as dishes in the sink or cosmetic products on bathroom counters, must be cleared by the cleaners before they can start, which can significantly reduce their efficiency. While a general tidying of home decor items is part of the service, it's important to note that we focus on cleaning the house rather than providing maid services. If the cleaners find clothes and excessive trash on the floor or biohazards, they may determine that the home poses an unacceptable level of risk and decide to cancel the cleaning session.

Wash Dishes and Clear the Sink

Please ensure your sink is cleared before our cleaning appointment. This allows for a more efficient sink cleaning process and removes the necessity for dishwashing, enabling us to concentrate on enhancing the overall cleanliness of your kitchen.

Put Away Toiletries

Please clear your bathroom counters of toiletries to allow for thorough cleaning and sanitisation of all surfaces. By removing personal items like toothbrushes, medicine bottles, and makeup, you also ensure their safety throughout the cleaning process.

Put Away Jewellery and Valuables

Ensure you securely store your jewellery and valuable items. Small pieces of jewellery are prone to being misplaced and could end up lost down a drain, inside a vacuum cleaner, or accidentally thrown away. To safeguard your valuables, it is imperative to store them securely and beyond easy reach.

Clear Benches, Counters and Tables

In the kitchen, ensure all surfaces are cleared of any items such as appliances, dishes, and utensils. In the living areas, remove any unnecessary items from coffee tables, side tables, and shelves. This allows cleaning products to be applied easily and evenly without any obstacles getting in the way

Leave Fresh Linen

For linen changes during your service, kindly place your fresh linen at the foot of your stripped bed. This practice allows us to quickly identify which beds require new linens, guaranteeing that we change the correct ones. Please be aware that our cleaners will not search through your cupboards for linens.

Clear the Floor

Ensuring floors are clear of shoes, toys, and other small items is crucial for an effective cleaning session. This not only makes vacuuming and mopping more efficient but also prevents any potential damage or loss to your belongings or our equipment. By taking a few moments to tidy up the floor space in each room, you help create a safer environment our cleaning staff.

Pets

For those with pets, it's important to secure them in a safe area or room away from the cleaning activities. This is not only for the safety of your pets but also to ensure our cleaning team can work without interruptions. Pets can become stressed or reactive in the presence of unfamiliar people and cleaning equipment, leading to potential accidents or injuries. Please ensure all pet waste is removed prior to arrival.

Put Away Sensitive, Private or Confidential Materials

To protect your privacy and security, we recommend storing away any sensitive, private, or confidential items before we arrive. This includes documents, electronic devices with personal info, and anything else you'd prefer to keep private during the cleaning.

Leave Us To It

For us, efficient time management during cleaning is crucial. We encourage you to seize this opportunity for a pleasant break—perhaps enjoy a coffee or complete some personal errands—while we diligently handle the cleaning tasks. To ensure optimal results, we kindly request the opportunity to work without interruptions. It's important that all areas of the home are accessible to our cleaning team, and we ask that clients avoid interfering with the cleaning process or obstructing the team. This ensures we can deliver the highest standard of cleanliness efficiently and effectively.
