Preparing Your Home for Cleaning

Aside from the occasional cleaning and decluttering, you need to prepare your home for a thorough cleaning service. This will not only help the cleaners do their job more efficiently but also ensure that your belongings are safe while they work. Here are some tips to help you get started:

Clear out clutter: Before the cleaners arrive, make sure to clear out any unnecessary clutter in the rooms that will be cleaned. This includes items on countertops, tables, and floors. Not only will this make it easier for the cleaners to do their job, but it will also prevent any of your belongings from being accidentally moved or damaged.

Clear the sink: In the kitchen and bathrooms, make sure to clear out any dishes or personal items from the sink. This will allow the cleaners to easily access and clean these areas without having to move objects around.

Clear bathroom beauty items, personal items, electronics, towels and toys: Place these items in the drawers and cabinets to ensure we can give those surfaces a good clean without having to move your items.

Toys and items on the floor: If you have young children, it's best to gather up any toys or items scattered on the floor and place them in a designated bin or area. This will prevent any accidents or delays during the cleaning process.

Secure fragile items: Make sure to secure any fragile items such as vases, picture frames, or delicate decor pieces.

Secure pets: If you have pets, it's important to secure them in a designated area or room while the cleaners are working. This will not only keep them safe but also prevent any distractions for the cleaners.

Secure valuables: If you have any valuable items such as jewellery or expensive electronics, make sure to store them safely. Jewellery left on floors can accidentally end up being sucked up by a vacuum cleaner and disposed of.

Communicate any special instructions: If there are any specific areas or items in your home that require special attention, make sure to communicate this to the cleaning service beforehand. This could include delicate surfaces, certain cleaning products to avoid, or any other important details that the cleaners should be aware of. We update your job template with each piece of feedback you provide.

Make space for the cleaners: While it may seem obvious, make sure to clear enough space for the cleaners to move around freely while they work. This includes moving furniture out of the way and creating a clear path for them to access all areas of your home.

Please don't distract the cleaners: Our goal is to provide you with a professional clean and our staff do this best when we can focus on our work.
